Christmas Eve

Grandma S made the girls some new hats and coats for the winter.
Here they are "modeling" their new duds.
I tried to get the pictures towards the end of a long day so they weren't really up for posing (or simling).

Aren't these the cutest coats ever?

Snowy fun

It was bright and sunny today so we played outside some more.

Meg enjoyed climbing her "mountain"

The girls also made a snowman with Grandma H.
I don't think I will be getting my green shoveling hat back...

Helpers

I found some kid sized shovels at Target. The girls were out with me for TWO HOURS this morning playing with their new shovels.

Sledding

Katie and Meg have been begging to go sledding. Last week they invented their own way to sled without snow. A little bubble wrap, some stairs, and a dose of 3 year old creativity is all it takes.

Sailboats...

Katie and Meg were watching cartoons in their "sailboats" this morning.

The pictures don't do it justice...

This afternoon while I prepped dinner, Katie and Meg told me they were going to "make a robot". After about 15 minutes, they excitedly called me to "Come and see our robot!"

Katie

Katie can't wait for it to snow again! She asks multiple times each day, "When is it going to snow?" Today, in addition to requesting snow, she begged to go to the beach! She could not be convinced that it is not an ideal time of year to visit the beach. She wants snow AND the beach. She summed it up well tonight when I overheard her telling Meg, "I like it how I like it."

They are SOOOO ready

Katie and Meg know that after Halloween comes Thanksgiving and next is Christmas. They seem to have forgotten about Thanksgiving and have been very excited for Christmas to come. We agreed to get the tree out and decorate it yesterday. After we got all the ornaments on the re-decorating began. I think every ornament within reach has been moved at least twice now. At one point there were 10-15 on a single branch in the corner (Katie's special place).

First Snow of the Season

The snow started falling yesterday around 4:30, much to the girls' delight. This morning, after a quick breakfast, they headed out to play. And, yes, they are still wearing their pajamas under their coats and boots.

Halloween Fun

It's been a fun, busy day so far! We had our 2nd annual Halloween Brunch and Costume Parade this morning. Our friends came over for brunch and a spider craft. Then we changed into our costumes and drove to a local assisted living facility to show off in a costume parade. After the costume parade we stopped by Papa's work to give him some cowgirl hugs. We can't wait to trick or treat tonight!! Thank you, Grandma S. for making our costumes!

Pumpkins!

Meg and Katie had lots of fun carving their pumpkins this year. Their favorite part was using the knives to pierce their pumpkins repeatedly.
