Fingerpainting Fun
Katie and Meg enjoyed a twist on fingerpainting this week. They were quite proud of their painting and their messy hands! Note: if you want to try this at home, I mixed the fingerpaints with some soap (Trader Joe's Castile soap - FABULOUS!) to make it easier to clean up.

Nature Bracelets
This morning Meg, Katie, and I had fun making nature bracelets in the backyard. To make a 'nature bracelet' you make a tape loop around your wrist, with the sticky side out. We used masking tape. The girls had so much fun walking around the yard and finding small leaves, flowers, pine needles, and small rocks to stick to their bracelets. Between the two of them, they must have made a dozen bracelets before it was time for lunch.

They still fit!
We went for a ride in the trailer today. It is quite a workout these days, I figure I'm pulling an extra 90 pounds between the girls and the trailer. The first picture is from March of last year for reference. We rode to the fairgrounds where there was a horse show. There was actually a 6 and under age group. They asked a few times if they could ride.

Public service announcement
If it looks like plastic, it might be glass.
Don't try to pick it up with your dominant hand.
Don't wait 2 weeks to get an x-ray.
Just go to the doctor and get it checked out.
9mm of glass doesn't come out easily when you let the wound heal.
If you don't like stitches, come back next week for a much nicer picture.
If you haven't seen the "Hello Kitty" umbrellas, scroll down quickly.

Almost a year later
You might remember this hike from last september. We hit the same trail today. The backpack carriers are history and the girls did a great job on thier own.
