Winter Wonderland

There is so much snow...

but our beautiful blue skies are back!

We're having fun exploring!

Good morning!

Sugar Snow

We made snow candy yesterday ~ just like Laura and Mary Ingalls.

All you need is pure maple syrup, butter(optional), and snow.

Meg

Katie thought it was too sweet, but Meg liked it.
You can find recipes here or here.

More snow pictures

Here are a few more shots of the snow we've had this week. I think the snowblower might be the best purchase of all time.

Notice the snow depth on the roof and in the driveway across the street.

They enjoyed the different view.

Yeah, it snowed

We are just over 4 feet of snow as of Friday night. There's probably another foot in store before Saturday is finished. Sunday is supposed to be nice and sunny.

That tall lump is my grill, not going to be using that for a while...

Snow Day

The schools were closed here today so we got to go sledding with some of our friends who had the day off. Hooray for a snow day!

What's Cookin'?

Meg and Katie love to help in the kitchen. This week I let them choose a recipe from this cookbook. We made chicken pot pies for dinner - yum!

Dinner is served!

We also like making recipes from The Toddler Cookbook by Annabel Karmel and Pretend Soup by Mollie Katzen.
