Bearizona

We spent a fun morning at Bearizona today with our cousins!

The highlight for all of the girls was the exhibit with two 5 month old cubs.

We watched Coco, one of the cubs, climb a tree almost all the way to the top.

Growing and Growing

At 5 weeks old, our chicks are definitely starting to look more like chickens. Meg and Katie figured out how to pick them up and carry them around (without my help), so they chased them all over the backyard this afternoon.... picking them up and carrying the chicks to what they deemed a "better" spot.

Birthday Morning

We spent the morning playing with new Legos and playing in the backyard. Meg and Katie wanted to play with the chicks, so we brought them out to the backyard (they are still in their brooder in the garage until their coop is finished).

The girls thought maybe some birdseed on the "bridge" would encourage the chicks to walk on it.

We ended the morning with a birthday lunch complete with a piece of birthday cake.

5th Birthday Party

This afternoon we celebrated Meg and Katie's 5th birthday with family and friends. It was a beautiful day for a backyard party.

After a treasure hunt for supplies, the kids made terrariums.

Chick Update

The chicks are almost 3 weeks old and growing rapidly. They are a funny mess of fluff and feathers. On warm days they enjoy a little outside time in the backyard. Katie and Meg watch the skies for hawks and try to get the chicks to follow them around the yard.
