Spring festival
Spring is here! To celebrate, there is a spring festival every year. Meg and Katie had a good time and really wore themselves out. Some highlights are below.

Yes, that is a real brown bear cub. It is stuffed. Both girls spontaneously gave it a big hug. Camping this summer could be even more adventurous than I expected.

Get the bikes
Katie and Meg got new bikes for their birthday this year. They came early so we could get as much time as possible on them.
We got the girls "balance bikes." If you look closely you might notice something missing. Yup, we got them bikes with no pedals! They are supposed to help develop balance while riding and so far it seems to work pretty well, Katie was gliding for short distances today.
Anyway, the idea is that we won't need training wheels and won't have the frustration associated with that transition. Here's hoping it works out that way.

Hoppin down the table?
Last summer we were driving the girls around to try and get them to sleep. They started singing "ring around the rosie" together but changed up some of the words. We finally got it on tape.

Yardwork fun
We are in the midst of finishing our backyard. I had 18 tons of gravel delivered Friday and spent Saturday getting it all moved into place. Katie and Meg were not intimidated at all by the Bobcat and even asked to drive it by themselves. They settled for a ride down the street with me. Thanks to Grandpa H we got all of the gravel moved on Saturday and I can do some of the smaller stuff today, I'll be happy if I can get the grass seed down.
